    About Us

    What we do

Cumberland Homelessness and Housing Support Association was created in 2018. Our Association was incorporated in the same year and governed by an executive committee and broader board of directors. We received our charitable status in November 2020. In late 2022 the Town of Amherst granted us the funding to hire our first Executive Director, Ashley Legere, who was officially appointed in late February of 2023.

The vision of CHHSA is to ensure everyone in Cumberland County has access to safe, affordable, and stable housing. To fulfill our vision, we will create a Community Housing Hub, a multi-purpose facility that provides supportive programming and housing solutions to people experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity.
